Welcome to our Getting Started Guide to Ballroom, Latin and Swing dance!
Making the decision to enter this enjoyable world, deciding which dances you want and what days to have your lessons on is perhaps the only difficult part of learning to dance. DANCERS are people just like you, except, they have more fun when they go out.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
After your initial phone call, you are welcome to come and see the studio and chat with us. We answer your questions and get you started with your first introduction to dancing through a complimentary private lesson.
WHAT IS COVERED IN AN INTRODUCTORY PRIVATE LESSON?
During your 30 minute, one-on-one private lesson, one of our instructors will determine your current level and recommend an appropriate personalized course for you to continue. You will also learn more about our Introductory Package for first-time students.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN OUR DANCE PROGRAM?
GROUP LESSONS - This means one instructor, several students. Here you will learn patterns, timings, and the way one dance interchanges patterns with another dance. General review of what has been taught during private lessons to help you gain confidence. In group classes you put your skills and talents to use which is one of the very important reasons to attend group classes. Our Class Schedule page will give you more information on classes being taught this month.
PRIVATE LESSONS - This means one instructor per student or couple. During these lessons you will learn the rudiments of dancing, like moving, leading or following and timing. Here you dancing skills and knowledge develop concentrating on the dances of your choice. You may book your Private Lessons by calling our studio at 301-951-3660, dropping by, or online through our ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM
PRACTICE SESSION AND DANCE SOCIALS - These have a party like atmosphere, which makes it more FUN! This party allows you to practice what you have learned during private and group lessons. You will also meet and dance with other students and instructors and learn how to survive on a dance floor and still have FUN!
