Do I need a partner to dance?
No, you don’t. Group classes and dance parties encourage social interaction and everybody enjoys dancing with a variety of different people. Private lessons are designed for a couple or for a single person.

What shoes should I wear?
To start with, you do not need any special type of dance shoe. We recommend that men wear shoes that feel comfortable, not too heavy, yet offer good support. Leather soles are OK, but avoid shoes that might leave black marks on the dance floor. For the ladies we recommend shoes with a supported back. No flip-flops or sling backs. Sneakers are not a good choice, because they prevent moving smoothly.

How should I dress?
For weekend dances, we advise dressy casual wear. Male dancers in our studio often wear sport shirts and cotton pants or lightweight dress slacks. A few ladies enjoy dressing up for the evening. Others choose comfortable lighter-weight garments.

For a special night out at our dance studio with co-workers, we recommend wearing whatever you wear to work, whether that means smart casual wear or business clothes.

Where are the closest metro stations?
For our North Bethesda/Rockville location White Flint is the closest station. For our downtown Bethesda location the closest metro stations are Bethesda Metro and Medical Center.

How do I sign up for group classes?

All of our classes are drop in so advanced registration is not required.  You can register at the front desk when you come for class.  If you do choose to register in advance you can view our schedule and register for classes using our online booking system.

Do I need to arrive early to class if it is my first time?

Yes, please come in a few minutes early to sign in and fill out a brief informational form.

How do I know which level of dance I should take?

If you are new to a dance, start with our Newcomer designated classes.  Our newcomer classes will teach you the first 7 steps of the 6 basic social dances.  After you have learned those steps you will progress into the Bronze level classes which are designated as our Intermediate level classes.  After you have mastered the Bronze classes feel free to take our Silver/Gold level classes which are designated as our Advanced level classes.  If you are still not sure what level is best suited for you, contact us so we can schedule a mini evaluation lesson with one of our instructors. They will be able to tell you exactly where to start.

Once I have taken dance lessons is there a place I can practice what I learned?

Yes we have dance parties every 1st Friday of the month, which is perfect for you to practice, meet other dancers like yourself, and have fun!  You don’t need to bring a partner to our dance parties since mostly everyone rotates, mixes, and mingles.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment for a private lesson, please give 24 hours advance notice, to ensure that you will not be charged for the appointment. If less than 24 hours notice is given and we are unable to fill your time slot, you will be expected to pay for the appointment.

Do you give refunds?

Unfortunately we do not give refunds for discounted packages.  If you are moving out of the area or can’t dance for medical reasons we will help sell your unused classes or lessons to another student.
